We human beings are integrated creatures ...

Dance and Movement

... body, mind and spirit. Life is most fully and richly experienced when all aspects of our being are brought into balance and harmony. So anything that gets our bodies involved in our prayers is a good thing.

Dance and movement can put us in touch with the spiritual dimensions of life in very different ways from sitting quietly in our prayer closets. And many such experiences also have the added benefit of connecting us with other people as well.

It is true that many of us have “issues” with the whole idea of dancing – ghosts of Junior High haunt our souls. But the powerful long-term benefits far outweigh the short-term anxiety of taking the risk to step beyond our comfort zone. Give it a try. Your body, mind and spirit will thank you.
